Why Not Me?, Mindy Kaling
Given that I absolutely love The Office (and The Mindy Project, although I’m a little bit behind, oops), I was really interested in reading Mindy’s stories again, four years after Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?. So, did I like it? Well, yes, to my surprise! I was left feeling a bit disappointed by her first book having enjoyed only its first half, but I liked this one better and I don’t know if it’s a timing thing or if it was genuinely better, but it was a very pleasant read. I would have hoped for the chapter about her and BJ Novak’s relationship to be a bit more consistent but eh, you can’t have it all, right?
After You, Jojo Moyes
So it’s gonna be a bit tough reviewing this one without revealing the whole plot in case you haven’t read the first book, Me Before You. If you have been following my blog long enough, you might recall how this book thrilled me. It was moving and poignant, and I ended up loving the characters so much. Now considering how things were left off, I kind of knew what to expect with this follow-up, and even though I know some people were disappointed in it, I find that Jojo did her best to continue Lou’s story and it was still very enjoyable.
What are you reading right now? I'm into The Goldfinch at the moment and given the ridiculous amount of time I give to reading lately, it might take a while before you see a review pop around here!
