Blog, Inc., Joy Deangdeelert Cho
– Blogging for Passion, Profit, and to Create Community.
With roughly 95,000 blogs launched worldwide every 24 hours (BlogPulse), making a fledgling site stand out isn’t easy. This authoritative handbook gives creative hopefuls a leg up. Joy Cho, of the award-winning Oh Joy!, offers expert advice on starting and growing a blog, from design and finance to overcoming blogger’s block, attracting readers, and more. With a foreword from Grace Bonney of Design*Sponge plus expert interviews, this book will fine-tune what the next generation of bloggers shares with the world.
This book is packed with tips on blogging, and although I already know how to set up a blog, I think this book is great if you’re thinking of starting your own blog. It gives a brief overview of the different platforms on the market and guides you through the process of things like finding your niche, choosing a domain name and making your posts more attractive.
The content of this is not really deep as it won’t give you that much detail but it gives you a nice idea of the different things you can do to grow your blog or turn it into a business.
What I liked the most were the numerous interviews with successful bloggers that allow you to figure out how their out of the box ideas made them stand out in their field and what made their blog unique.
If you’re a bit curious about how to push your blog forward I think it’s a nice read but beware, there’s no key recipe in there to make your blog the most popular!
