With the colder months now approaching, who can resist a mug of hot chocolate? Even better if it’s homemade, right? What I like the most about “real” hot chocolate, and by that I mean made of melted chocolate and not powder, is how thick it can be. The texture can be quite unique and in that case, I’m enjoying every sip of it. So let me share with you my recipe for a really good homemade hot chocolate! It’s not the one they serve at Angelina I reckon, but it’s very tasty nonetheless. Plus, it’s really easy and quick to come up with!
- 80g dark chocolate (you can add more if you like it really strong)
- 2 tsp caster sugar
- 25cl milk
- 15cl liquid cream
- Put all of the ingredients in a saucepan and heat slowly at medium temperature. Stir with a whip or a fork while the chocolate is melting and until the mixture is hot and foaming.
- Pour in two cups/mugs and serve with chocolate shavings on top or whipped cream (I have an excellent recipe for this, tell me if you're interested!).
