Being able to just hop on a train to London in the morning and be back in Paris in the evening is something I’m VERY grateful for. The Eurostar is so awesome for that.
This wouldn’t have been possible if we hadn’t booked very affordable tickets. The only condition to get that price was to come back on the same day. We didn’t have to think twice before we decided to book the early train ride (7:43 am!) and come back in the evening. We would make this a shopping day and the tradition to have an annual trip to London would live on!
We were very lucky with the weather as it was incredibly sunny. Very crisp, but super sunny nonetheless, which was all we cared about really. We wandered from shop to shop like we were on some quest, soaking it all in at the same time. I lost my travel card in the process so we ended up walking a lot more than intended to, I think, but that allowed us to discover some streets we had never set foot on before and admire the reflection of the sun on those beautiful red buildings. A very tiring day indeed, but a good one!
We started off with a visit of Selfridges because we needed a place where a lot of British brands were gathered in the same place to save time. It was just dreamy to wander on Oxford street at 10am as the street was totally empty!
Having woken up pretty early, we opted for an early lunch / late breakfast / brunch at The Riding House Café that we enjoyed so much the last time we were in London and that’s still as lovely, friendly and delicious.

With our appetite now satisfied, we made time for some photos in the area and then headed to Regent Street where we visited Space NK, J.Crew and a heavenly place called Anthropologie.
After spending some time in Soho we rested in a coffee shop for a hot cuppa and finally headed to Goodge Street / Tottenham Court Road to visit West Elm. I think we were so tired by then that it prevented us from buying anything in there. A good thing I believe, as the prices are definitely on the high end of the spectrum. We had to finish our day with a bookshop before heading back to St Pancras.
