This post was long overdue but I don’t think I could have missed an opportunity to talk about some of my favorites newest products. I don’t talk about beauty very often here, but those who know me are aware of my affection for all things beauty and especially makeup. So here we go!
The first thing you should know is that I’m a fan of Bobbi Brown products. I think it’s probably my favorite brand and I always go back to them when in doubt. I wrote a little something (that’s kind of old now but still pretty accurate) about why I love the brand already. I get my brows done in a Bobbi Brown studio, I’m always satisfied with the job, and the makeup artists are very lovely as well. So naturally when my best friend got married in late September and asked me to be her maid of honor, I was happy to book an appointment with them so I could look “my best”.
Now the thing I didn’t know at the time is that when you get your makeup done at Bobbi Brown, you can be reimbursed in products. Meaning that if the cost of getting your makeup done is 45€ alone, you can buy for 45€ worth of products and not pay the session itself. Which is a pretty great deal in my opinion because you have every reason to pick a product or two, depending on their price!
With that in mind, I chose to buy the lipstick used by the makeup artist so I could reapply during the day if needed. Claret is a burnt red that really compliments any look and I’ve come to really love it. It’s very different from what I already got in my makeup drawers so that was even better and it’s from the Nourishing Lip Color range which is very comfortable to wear. The lipstick costing less than the makeup session, I decided to add a little something that I know I wouldn’t have purchased otherwise for the simple fact that I generally buy my skincare from the French pharmacy brands. But I was really tempted to try the Radiance Boost mask out. It’s an exfoliating mask that helps me get rid of dead skin around my nose, creating a smoother base for applying makeup. I generally follow this with the Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey mask to hydrate and calm the skin afterwards.
The Dior nail polish featured here, in the shade Massaï, was a birthday gift and while it’s another red, it’s not a bright one, making it absolutely easy to wear and not too “in your face”. It’s my second nail polish from Dior and I’m very impressed with the quality and longevity. It’s also super easy to apply thanks to the flat brush.
Since I took the photos for this post, I also got a Sephora voucher for my birthday and treated myself to the Fresh Sugar Rosé Tinted Lip Treatment which I’m so happy with for a nice and on the go flush of color on the lips.
There’s also a new addition in my haircare routine, which is very minimalist. I’m currently trying out the Amino Acid Shampoo from Kiehl’s that’s supposed to be gentle on the scalp and smells of coconut.
I'm heading to London in a few days for a very shopping oriented experience (pls don't judge me haha), so I'm sure I'll have to report back with a few more items!
